We Had a quick to sit down with Local Skateboarder and community activist Chad Tim Tim to talk about love, life, skateboarding, family and a new project he is working on called Truman. Growing up skateboarding along with anything else I could put my feet on I have a true admiration for skateboarders as I truly believe
It’s the hardest and most frustrating sport ever invented. Here are a few lead in topics with some Q & A we discussed.
Jim-Where did you grow up and how many years have you called Long Beach home?
Tim Tim-Im from Huntington Beach originally and have lived in Long Beach now 14 fine years.
Jim-Tell me why you decided to stay here? Lots of people have a run in LB and don’t quite stick it out? You Must have some favorite things to love and hate?
Tim Tim- I love the messiness of it, Melting pot of different culture and lifestyles. Its also the closest thing to being in LA without living there.I do hate it sometimes, its one of those places you want to tell people to come to and then you also want to keep it all to yourself.
Jim- I have some super generic skate questions for you..Favorite skate spot in Long Beach? And why do you think there is a sizable Long Beach skate community
Tim Tim- Right now I would have to say Cherry Park. It’s the central spot to meet up and skate with the boys. I think Long beach is creating destinations for filming, skating and just something a little different that has made it what it is in the skate community.
Jim-What’s important to you outside of skateboarding?
Tim Tim-Family, Friends, Community, being active, Outdoors. I have a great family and have been married to my wife 8 years now, we have 2 girls 5 ½ and 2 ½… outnumbered with lots of estrogen
Jim-What’s Your Top 3 video parts ever filmed? And anything new in the works?
Tim Tim- Ok Top 3- New Horizon, First Transworld part Time To Shine & Trio by Ricky Bedenbaugh . We are shooting the Dekline video for Holiday 14 premiering at the Local art theater.
Jim-If you would like to have impact on skateboarding what type of impact would you like it to be?
Tim Tim-Id Like to Inspire getting people to skate new things outside their norm. Traveling helps and the need to Forgetting about the media aspects and concentrating on skateboarding. Get back to the basics.
Jim-And Lastly, whats the new project up your sleeve and when do we get to see it?
Tim Tim- Well the project is our brand called Truman. It’s a USA home grown Leather accessories brand that we are launching this December. It’s a DIY hands on brand making things like wallets and other hand crafted goods.
